Liz O is a New England–based comedian, musician, and theatrical performer known for blending stand-up comedy, surreal storytelling, character work, and musical chaos into an unforgettable live experience. She performs frequently at the Strange Brew Tavern, Stark Tavern, and wherever else can handle bouts of belligerent feminist ranting.

Described as “a dark fairy tale from a stand-up comic,” Liz O combines the energy of a punk bard, a glitter-covered ringmaster, and a glamorous feral cryptid trying to fit into society. Her performances spiral through motherhood, modern dating, late capitalist survival, feminist rage, social rituals, and the continual experience of being “too much” in a world obsessed with beige moderation.

A former fixture of the San Francisco underground art and comedy scene, Liz O developed her signature theatrical style while producing variety shows, immersive performances, and what were essentially children’s parties in dive bars for adults. She later returned to New England, where the same energetic whimsy that was celebrated in San Francisco quickly got her banned, blacklisted, and labeled as a “problem” on the rigid, hierarchical, and largely straight white male comedy circuit.

Undeterred, Liz O decided not to give up and enthusiastically embraced her new Jezebel archetype instead, bouncing back from her silencing armed with rants about the Salem Witch Trials and Anne Boleyn. Whether she’s declaring her love for Hillary Clinton at a comedy competition, disrobing mid-set, or heckling male comedians from the stage, her act could be labeled as a feminist performance art piece fueled by White Claw and glitter.

She is currently developing new material for her summer project, Forty Naughty Shorty, while continuing to build her evolving live experience which lands somewhere between a comedy set and a summoning.
